Olympiakos - Panathinaikos 1-1

Good game. Panathinaikos took what they needed, the one point, to leave Olympiakos staring at their back, lagging two points behind.

Kapino, Simao, Zeka were excellent, Marinos in the first half, and Sariegi/Boumsong most of the game played very well. Ferreira made the right move to put Vintra in, moving Zeka to the center of the field at a moment when Olympiakos looked like they were about to camp in PAO's half. After that, Panathinaikos clogged the middle and with the exception of several lobs forward and a couple of individual errors, didn't sweat much.

Kapino at 17 was baptized by fire today and he came out shining. Kudos to the kid for keeping cool and pulling at least two amazing saves. He was error-free for one more game and showed off his very sound fundamentals, smothering the ball with ease, coming off his line only when needed, and keeping cool all game long.

It seems like jailing a few of the fat cats for match fixing has put everyone in their place. Marinakis was a "panagitsa", the fans were good boys, and the ref played very well. The only exception was a blatant offside that was not called, allowing Kapino to make a fantastic save low and to his left on a Djeabour clean shot.
